I've been playing around with the Flipster from RunOffGroove, playing with voltages and different JFETS.  The one thing I'm not sure of is the the section labelled A on the schematic.

Is this just feeding signal from Q3 back in after Q4 or is it doing something else?
It skips the high pass filter after the drain of Q3 but it also has a fairly small capacitor on it.

It's a negative feedback loop.  Some of Q4's output is tapped off, high-pass filtered and mixed back in at Q3 as an inverted signal.  This simulates the presence network on the real amp.

I run my flipster at 12V and like the drains biased high, like around 8-9V.
