Steby fuzz v.II !!

While experimenting with the steby fuzz, I blew an AC188... Yes, because it got saturated up to 0.5A ... :icon_redface:
Version 2: The biasing of Q1 is now with a feedback resistor, which eliminates tranny-killing (inspired by earthtonesaudio's remarks).
The gain stes not only the volume into Q2, but also it's base bias (as in the Maestro fuzztone, but somewhat simpler).
The gain pot's value should somewhat chosen by trial and error, since it sets the current in Q1 too.

This is a neat circuit, and completely different from V.1, at least in terms of how the PNP is biased.  I would still add a small resistor in series with the V+ supply though.  One resistor is cheaper than two transistors.

what did it sound like after you blew it, that is if it worked at all?  i think i also may have blown a ge transistor this past week, but i'm not sure...
