Anyone build one yet? I want to start building a 2-channel microphone preamp, and I thought it'd be neat to see if I could do a submini tube version.

I would really be into that!

I haven't really messed with submini tubes, so far I've been a big tube/full plate voltage guy.  I know folks have been running them at low voltage with great success.  How about running them at 48v since you need that for phantom power anyway?

Couldn't we adapt a current submini design to a microphone preamp? The big challenge would be the need for low noise and low distortion. The lower output impedance of a microphone isn't as much of a concern as the lower signal level. I'm guessing we'd need in/out transformers? Edcor makes cost effective transformers.
