I  got onto this by accident...
I had seen it mentioned lists here and there but always overlooked it. So I debuged one of these last year for someone, I was planning on getting  it done quickly because its simple and my care factor was zero at the time. Well, once it was firing wow, what a pleasing boost!
I have revisited this now because it should be perfect at the front end of all those valve projects as it has tons of gain - it should start at near unity and go up from there and it doesn't overly color your tone.

Overall this is a really nice boost!

Enjoy

It looks a nice layout - which are the improvements!?

Well, the 'improvements' those of GGG as per their schematic http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/ggg_sbb_sc_i.pdf

Improved pot taper, 100R at the input ...earlier version used 68k and 100uf power filtering cap.
No big deal, but the 100R is a big improvement and it works fine with a 100k linear. The 10uf Tant can be an electro but I'd stick with a Tant for the 1.5uf one.
Anyway thats the recipe I used!
Give it a go its a simple and quick build and just the ticket for giving those submini tube projects a kick in the pants.
Thats why I pulled it out... Now I just have to find some submini's  ::)
