Take two SE amps, outputs out of phase.
Powering a speaker design I've never heard of..
Hook the in phase amp to a speaker coil.
Hook the ooPhase amp to the 'other' speaker coil [a fixed coil].
It would seem the out of phase currents would induce motion when moving through the coils which have been built into a 'piston / cylinder' orientation.
  Who's tried it...or why wouldn't it work ?
Seems like it'd work, and wouldn't necessarily be good for linear response...[if you could produce a 2-coil speaker.
...Kind of an offshoot concept of Field Coil Speaker.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
