Hi guys,
I've built the valvecaster, no tone, following a schem I found by Renegadrian. build it @ 12V.
I searched the 12AU7 on ebay to put in as I read this was the best choice since tubes with more gain sounded terrible.
Then I was looking for little more gain and I was trying some tweaks like increasing R2... then I remembered I had a 12AY7 laying around since I built my amp. I decided to put it in the valvecaster and sounded pretty good to me. Seems no one have reported on using 12AY7 in the valvecaster... so I want to know if someone has tried the the pros & cons.

Yupp...I had a 12at7 seemed real nice in the VC.
sometimes, 12ax7's have so much gain they just can't seem to keep up with themselves.

You mean 12AY7?! Well, I tried the AT, and it sounded good...I believe you are the first trying out an AY...
So we can say that it works good anyway!!! Yeah!!!
