I know this has been covered somewhere before and I realize that "fets are not tubes" and all that, but what I'm wondering is this:
If I have a schematic of a tube preamp that I want to make into a non-tube unit, can someone explain how to do this conversion?
Preferably in a way that is easy to understand.

Have a look at some of the schematics at www.runoffgroove.com and compare them to the schematics of the amps that they emulate. It should all make sense.
Bringing you yesterday's technology tomorrow.

specifically, look up runoffgroove's FETZER Valve Article.  They explain things very clearly.

Thanks guys, I'll do some digging on this stuff.
Looking at the Uno in comparison to the MB MkI - looks like it's not going to be that difficult - still a little unsure; but it's at least not looking like at ancient Arabic.
