Shin EI Q2C = .75v, this is normal ?

Seems rather low since the base is only .56v, and grounded emitter is only 0.0v.
Also the effect seems weak, sort of blatty and sounds great with a FF infron of it.
Ah...gotta be right, all the resistances measure up about right, just sounds wrong though.

This Shin-Ei it's very strange...in GGG's build instruction (http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/ggg_secf_instruct.pdf) it's posted that Q2's collector must to be 2V and Q1's must to be 6.6V (take care at the numbering in the schematic http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/ggg_secf_sc_bst.pdf: the transistors are numbered inversed...)!!!

My best, after i've tried over 20-30 transistors, was 0.75V for Q1 and 2.5V for Q2!

Gus

figure out the Ic +Ib (collector resistor current you want for the voltage drop across the collector resistor)

http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/ggg_secf_sc_bst.pdf

Q2 at 2VDC so you have 22k collector resistor you want to "drop" 7VDC across this 7VDC/22K =.318ma

read the collector base bias section

You will need to adjust the base to collector resistor and/or select the transistor

  That's the one Gus.
Whipped onto a little piece of perfboard, the C/B resistors are buried in there...ah...I could jam resistors into the C/B socket lugs...
I like the looks of the Foxey Lady bias network better I think.
All the resistances sorta match the schematic on this Shin Ei board [I had 1 megs, used them to make ~1m2 and ~2m2 resistors].
I messed up and used a .01uf input cap [runnin' low on .047's], I bumped that up to .22uf and now at least its sort of above unity, does have interesting sound, the knobs work, seems like it 'works', just ain't 'right' or is it...Foxey Lady may let me have some information, I just need a few more parts is all.

Thx Gus!
My theoretical knowledge goes to 0, so i used some 2N3904 as Mark Hammer suggested, with the hFE between 180-250.
I will try to understand what you said and after that i will try to bias again.
