In my "bass" pedals, I split the signal with a 100-150Hz crossover, usually.
Highs go to the effect (wet) and lows get mixed at output...
"NOT FLAMMABLE" is not a challenge

Smart.  I like it. gets you rock-solid fundamental (critical for bass) with some swirl on top.
