I've been trying to figure out for sometime now what's happening with the signal when my digital pedals are bypassed.
I own a Line6 Tonecore and a Boss DD6.
Let's start with the Tonecore pedal.
By reading the text in the following link one understands that the bypassed signal is not going through the A/D D/A conversion
http://line6.com/tonecore/faq.html#5On another page though (
http://line6.com/community/docs/DOC-3965;jsessionid=9E290E9F942B82E428DCD9371F4A193A )
one can read the following:
Q: Are the ToneCore pedals "True Bypass" when I disengage the effect?
A: No, the Tonecore pedal will still have the audio signal running through the processor, but you will not hear the effect.
For the Boss DD6 I had no luck finding any information at all. One thing I know for sure is that when you disengage the pedal the delay trails are always on and disappear according to how many repeats you have dialed in. Does this means that the A/D D/A conversion is always active even in bypass mode?
Thanks for reading this. i hope somebody can shed some light.
