where to put those 1M resistors to ground

Hey all;

I'm building the following design for a switching system:

The drain and source of each JFET needs to be held to 0v, so I've got some 1M resistors to do that job. Does it matter physically where that resistor is mounted (IOW, does the resistor need to be right at the JFET, or could it be several inches away on an input jack)? It seems to me that it shouldn't matter, because it would be at 0v either way, but I thought I'd double check now rather than have to rework the board later.

Thanks

Anywhere. Like you say, it's 0V either way.
Bringing you yesterday's technology tomorrow.
