Hey All,

I have this capacitor I am trying to identify and I want to make sure I get the correct one. I cannot remove it from the original circuit so I have no way of actually measuring it. The writing on it seems to indicate ".47J63" which I would interpret as .47nf, 5%, 63v or maybe .47uf, 5%, 63v. Does it even look like a decimal? from internet photos they look like Arcotronics Capacitors but im not sure. They are 5mm spread, probably metallized polyester.

Any ideas?

.47 uF would seem to make most sense, there isn't space to write 470n.
I just checked my Wima box caps and they write u47J63, so I'd go with .47uF

I have some with the same color and code, but the code is printed on the square face, not the top rectangle.

They read .47J 63, and the Mouser product label on the bag has the following info:

Arcotronics metallized polyester film
.47uf 50volts 5%

Mouser part number 80-R82DC3470AA60J

I plugged the part number in and they are in fact 63 volts, but the description reads 50 volts, both on my baggie and the site.

So you were right on.
