I just realized I don't have any 1n4148, which a layout I found calls for.  Can I use a 1n914a instead?

Thnx.

Yes, you can. They are essentially the same diode.

The only real difference is minor:

I doubt the 75 volt reverse rating vs, 100 volt is going to make any difference in a stompbox in most applications.  Nor should the 75 mA vs. 200 mA current rating.  For the typical user, 1N914A and 1N4148 should be close as whoremonger is to swearing.

Cool.  That's what I thought, but I figured I should double check first!  Thanks!
