its too loose. Also the rocker, without a foot on it, is never fully tilted back.
I was thinking of weights at the back or s spring for this but what about making the movement a bit less loose.?
Any ideas?
thanks guys

There's a little black or white piece of plastic that presses the treadle thingy against the pot.  Loosen the screw, push it towards the pot, and tighten the screw again.

Also if you can find a largish washer with a small diamater hole, you can slip it over the steel strap that goes over the axle so that it pulls down a bit more-WARNING-this can be an absolute nightmare to reassemble !
You have to juggle two pairs of long nosed pliers and make sure that the strap does'nt grip the bolt thread and throw it out of the hole as you turn the pedal over to fasten the nut.
I wont tell you how long this took me yesterday !
The squeak my crybaby was making was driving me crazy so it had to be done ( It's not always practical to turn up the amp to drown out the squeak !).

Might be because you pot is maxing out and the gear is keeping the rocker from goin all of the way back.  This is robbing you from the full range of your wah!  And it can't be good for the pot.  Take a look at the gear and rock the rocker all of the way back.  If the pot stops before it goes all of the way back, take the pinion off (the long toothed thingy), you can usually just push it off to the side, and rock the rocker all of the way back.  And then put the pinion back on.  You should get the full range now.

Solder first, ask questions later.

As for the loose treadle, maybe that strap thing over the axle is a little loose, have you tried tighterning it down more?  Maybe that's all it needs.

+1. That's more effective than relying on that plastic piece alone.

You could also show it some pedal porn.

::)

I was waiting for an answer like that!

Or maybe just rub it?

Uh, I think you are thinking of "engorging" or "enlargement". I apparently don't define "stiffen" the same way you guys do.  :icon_lol:

Ugh.  This thread has taken a turn for the worse...
