Hi, this is my first post to the forum and any help would be gratefully received.

I have recently purchased an MXR blue box reissue, one with script writing. It is I believe the newest model, I wished to carry out the C11 mod.

I went ahead and cut out the C11 cap only to find that now the effect does not work. Upon much searching I found that the C11 mod won't work on newer blue boxes, so I tried putting the C11 cap back but still no dice! I get signal when the effect is off but only very quiet fuzz when the effect is on, and I do mean very quiet.

Any advice on fixing this issue, and how to perform the C11 mod on newer blue boxes too?

Much appreciated,

hey jimi welcome to diy stompboxes ^.^

here's a tutorial for the mod: http://www.noisefx.com/article/mxr_blue_box_mod
there's some fairly good info in it, but i would just check the pictures against YOUR circuit board and see if they're the same. if not, then i would go to radio shack and buy a cap that's the same value as the one you cut out (if its not there, you could go to smallbearelec.com) and solder it back in place. if that doesn't work, check to see that nothing is touching that shouldn't be. beyond that, i have no ideas.

if they DO match, check that you cut the right cap, then scour[vocab!!!] the forum for threads that might have some helpful info (if you haven't already).
good luck! i hope this ends up working out for you :D
