Swapping pots?

Hey guys,

I was hoping to work up the Beginner Boost Project using spare parts I have lying around my workbench.  I have all the caps and resistors with the right or "close enough" values, but wasn't sure about the boost pot.  Do you think I can use a 25k pot instead of the recommended 5k pot, and still get it to work?  If anything, what would be the difference?

You can try a 6.3K across the two outer lugs of the pot as a temporary work around.

Yeah, what he said. I've had to do it in the past and it worked out well enough that I could keep my project going until I could get the right pot.
