One of the first builds this year. Tried a bit different etching technique for texture.

Presenting the "Boostischewski":

My first stompbox ever, a clean boost with two gains and a switchable bandpass at 1800Hz, built for an acoustic guitar player friend as solo boost.
Lots of headroom, operates at +/- 9V.
All done with a TL072 with SMD components, as I hate drilling PCB's.

Some holes came out off center (damn blunt centering pin of cheap drill bit), but overall I'm quite satisfied.

Etching mask was produced by spray painting the thing and "printing" the image with a laser engraver. Fe3-Cl for the etching.
I like the rugged look, but next time I will go for beforehand polishing, deeper etching, again spray painting and sanding excess off afterwards for better contrast and shinier overall appearance.

Guts are quite messy, as I made most wires plain too long and did not trim PCB to size. But if you guys can stomach it, i will take some gut shots. Gotta open it again anyway for some resistor and cap stacking, as I'm not quite happy with the gains yet.

btw: "Boostischewski" is a reference to the last name of the guy it's intended for and is pronounced "boostishevskee".

The detail in the clamp is super, very impressive! All good, looks great.

I always liked my etches. But ... merde ... yours are sooo clean. I'd  never have the patience to sand and polish on that level beforehand. If I was rich I'd like to have these pedals you build.

bluebunny

If I were rich, I'd have Rob sand and polish my pedals.   :icon_biggrin:

If I was Rich, I'd be doing crazy things with envelope followers and STOMPLFO chips!   ;D

.... and wrongly ordering thousands of darlington driver chips with no audio uses.
