Hi!
I built a Boss mt-2 pedal, but it's not the same sounds, like in YouTube videos.  I know, not the same guitar, not the same amplifier. I would like to know, my pedal is work properly, or not. For square wave signals has same output, like in the service manual. Somebody have an original MT-2?

Thanks: Jaca
(Sorry the English, but I'm from hungary)

Jaca

Nobody?   :'(
I need only some sample sound. PLEASE!

anchovie

You've already heard sample sound in YouTube videos. Maybe you should record a sample of your pedal and someone can tell you if it sounds bad or not.

Ok, I will upload sample sound, but only directly from the pedal output, becouse I don't have a guitar amplifier, only a homemade box with loudspeaker and a TDA2005. My problem with YouToube video, I can't find an open E string clean and distorted, and all is high-end guitar with humbuckler pick-up. I have a cheap Harley Benton (strato copy) with single coil.

I expect that'll be giving you a lot more treble and a lot less low end than the average Metal Zone user!

Sorry, but I can't translate it to Hungarian. I don't understand so clear, what do You think.

A cheap Strat copy will sound very different to a metal guitar with humbuckers.

Ok, it's clear. I think, I make a new body for my guitar. The neck is very good. Wich  type of wood can I use?

Sorry, my soundcard have some trouble. I will exchange it soon as possible, may be today.

deadastronaut

well it sounds like its working ok!...

it will all depend on what you plug it into..and what guitar you have... (humbucker pickups etc..!

fenders just wont cut it for metal/thrash etc .....unless you put a double humbucker in it!...... :icon_idea:

try it in a proper amp setup and see the difference ok...

you cannot expect stage sound with a standard hi-fi/pc stereo...
the best pedals around will also sound naff with that setup..!!!!!...so go get an amp :icon_mrgreen:

yes, I think this is , for some of us, a problem, dont have enough/tight equipment to test these pedals... I've build couple of pedals that I was not happy about how they sound with my house equipment, a strato into a cabsim into PC soundcard, good but not what I've expected... days later I give them to a friend's friend to test them out (he was courious about home-build pedals) with an Ibanez something into a Princeton deluxe? something (AND A GOOD PLAYER :D) what a f*** !! the hell comes out of it!!
so just try to get the right equipment may be even in a music shop, and for a real test a read good player , untill you (and I speak also for myself learn to play  ;D)

BTW I like the sound on the clips, ...and the guitar body..... that's terrific and impressive, rock on!!

deadastronaut

yep!..armando.

also if you do not have the right/good sound, you probably wont  have the inspiration to learn too..

i hated having a sh*t sound when i was learning, as soon as i got what i was after sound wise..i was on it everyday
and came on much quicker and more fluent.....it makes a massive difference... ;)

yeah good point!

if only the Post  were a little bit cheap and reliable (I speak of the Italian one) then we in the forum could even send boards eachother to test them with the right player/equipment, take the case of the Bastard son... (dont remember now the  full name :icon_mrgreen:) you ROb are  building, I build mime on a PCB it sound good enough but I would like to hear it used by you with your guitar skills and a good setup.... then I can even think (in case of a positive result) to box it and sell it :icon_redface: (oh yeh u'll be rewarded !!  :D  :D  :D ). I mean I will never own a guitar with humbuckers and or a Marshal JRCwhatever (don't have money, skills, I don't play live... so I reall don't need it) but may be I've build a good sounding fx that, for the time being, will be sitting in the bin together with many other....

Sorry Jaca I derailed this thread!! ( but I like to write in English just to stay trained!)

Thanks to all! I'm very happy!
Soon as possible, I looking for someone, who have a good guitar and a good amp. If it possible, I will record de sound.
In the pedal, there is some difference: C42: 1uF, C33: 150nF and C29 150nF, only for better characteristic for the low freq.

What do You think, it's possible to built a good but cheap amp? Max 20W.

( so, the guitar in the picture is only my dream, I like to work with wood. Here is some other pics: http://freshpics.blogspot.com/2010/08/50-beautiful-wooden-artworks.html )

as for an amp, your better off looking around for that!...there are many sites for building amps too!...rob.

Hi!
Marshall is only tube amp. Can you tell me which brand made a good sounding solid state amp?
Thanks!
