Hey everyone! :)

I've been messing around with a fuzz face circuit I built on my protoboard for the past few weeks and now I think I got the sound I want and decided pretty much how I want my final look to look like.

This is what I have in mind:
A three-knobed fuzz - 1.Volume 2.Fuzz 3.Pre-gain knob (So you don't have to use your guitar volume knob..)

I want to swirl paint it and label it with white texting.

I even photoshoped what I want it to look like:

But I have a few questions I would like to ask before finishing my pedal, and I would love if you genius-forum-guys :) would try and answer my dumb questions:

  • How necessary is it to use Borax for the swirl painting?
  • What's better- Drill first, paint later/Paint first, drill afterwards?
  • How do you dip the enclosure into the water? Do you separate the bottom of the box from the box and do two dips?
  • Does anyone has a drilling-layout for a pedal with three knobs for a 1250B (I think that's what its called...)
  • I want to create my own PCB Layout for this one. Is it recommended to put a pull down resistor in the layout? How do I wire one if I use a pre-gain knob?
  • Where is the PCB placed? Is sticking the PCB with double-sided tape to the knobs a good way of putting it in the box?
  • What colors are best for swirl-painting? Acrylic, water-based? Oil based? I really don't know...  :-\
  • And the last question I have in mind - How do I label all the pots and in\out etc... I think I've read somewhere that you print it with a laser-printer, then glue it to the box and the clear coat everything. It would be really helpful I someone would write how it's done in a little more detail :)

Ookaaay... That's for now...  ;D
I know that's a lot of questions but most of them are really noobie and could be answer with pretty much one word...

I thank everyone in advance!

looks nice! :icon_cool:

i would drill first.....you don't want to scratch your lovely paint job...

ive never seen a printer print white though!...you may have a job finding that!..usually printers print black and use the paper as white...

and it usually printed on waterslide clear..

just my 2p.. :)

But there are pedals with labels that are blue or red so isn't possible to print white on the "transparent pages"?

deadastronaut

not as far as i know...the clear pretends to be the white...

Anyone else?  :-\
I really need to know the answers to my questions.. I really don't want to mess everything up..

Thanks :)
