A friend of mine brought me a tremolo he uses. A friend of his many years back had tried selling them but it never took off. He claimed its an original design. I was sceptical but when I took a look at the circuit it was not familiar. So I am working on drawing up the schematic. I will post as it progresses.
The concept is to have a "mix" knob instead of intensity. It can get nice smooth tremelo even though it is not optical. It can also get crazy throbbing percussive sounds.
More to come!

Some Pics

I did the tracing in photoshop and it wont let upload a .psd document to tinypics so I cant show you that.

Here is a mess of a schematic

The link was broken but i googled it. Seems to be the same just a couple minor value changes.

For some reason, that link I posted works but you have to copy it and paste it into your browser; won't work if you click it - weird. All the info is here, and this should work as a hyperlink:

I do like that trem design, built one a while back. Simple and sounds nice.

That mechanical trem is crazy!

Links to topopiccione don't work for some weird reason, had this problem in the Bad Stone thread.

Topopiccione's server checks where a click comes from. If an image is called from his own pages, fine. If an image is called from some other page, "hotlinking", that's impolite and it delines to serve the image. Copy/paste calls the image from "nowhere" and that is allowed (because some browsers or firewalls drop the http_referer header).

Shorting out the input with an active device goes back a Loooooong time.

Compared to Schaller.... Yup. Mighty similar.

Hmmm the enclosure is even the same as the original.http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/schaller/tremolo Although the Paint and labeling is totally different. I am going to have to find out who built the one I have.
