Any reason not to use stripboard or perfboard

Hi, I'm hoping to build a compressor from the Anderson electronics book, and I'm wondering if there's any reason not to us stripboard or perfboard instead of a PCB, which I can't find or make!

I am new to this, so all help + suggestions welcome!

Stripboard and perf are more difficult to build on than a PCB, but other than that there aren't any huge differences for DIYers doing one-offs. Take a look at this:

I'll probably use perf or stripboard.
This stuff is hard to get started with though...so much to learn!
