hi people, i decided that the ampeg scrambler was what i needed and ordered everything.
ive assembled everything but its not working properly.
At first i had no sound at all, after checking my board several times without fiding any issue i went info hunting about the transistors used and found out that the 2n5306 i have are labeed as BEC and not CBE as usual ones,(nor like the real darlingtons used by people here ECb), so i changed everything.
Now, i have a very light outpout , that i can adjust with the blend pot and if i do somme light strumming on the guitard strings nothing happens but if i do brutal strumming i got something like a very loud distorted sound , like cracks.
i Dont know what could have gone wrong.
any idea?

EDIT:

1.What does it do, not do, and sound like?
2.Name of the circuit = ampeg scrambler
3.Source of the circuit (URL of schematic or project) = tonepad.com
4.Any modifications to the circuit? Y or N no, i have even left the five diodes
5.Any parts substitutions? If yes, list them. no
6.Positive ground to negative ground conversion? Y or N no
7.Turn your meter on, set it to the 10V or 20V scale. Remove the battery from the battery clip. Probe the battery terminals with the meter leads before putting it in the clip. What is the out of circuit battery voltage? => meter broke, jhave to go buy another one
