Way Huge Foot Pig

I have a friend who wants a Way Huge Foot Pig, or a fuzz sounding very much like it.

You can find a sound sample on that page a few clicks down.  It does sound pretty nice.  Can anyone suggest a pedal I can build for him using information from the internet that is, more or less, the same?

the foot pig is IIRC a fuzz face circuit with tweaks and a tone circuit added.  get the fuzz face transistors from steve at http://www.smallbearelec.com/ and then head to http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/ for info on how to build and bias one correctly - and come ask here if you have any trouble with it

tell your friend to ignore the sound from any reissue fuzz face he's heard, they just don't set them up right.  if you build one from parts with the right gain, and bias it correctly, you will have one magical sounding pedal
