Here's the skinny:

  • You must build your pedal specifically for the competition - no 'previously built' entries please
  • You must post your finished pedal on the Pictures! thread on page 1000 or any of the following pages providing it is posted on the same day that the Pictures! thread reaches page 1000
  • Your finished pedal must also be posted on this thread on the same day
  • Your pedal must be 'end of the world' themed
  • Gut shots are mandatory'!
  • Slade is not allowed to enter!
  • frequencycentral is not allowed to enter!

ANYONE can enter - even your granny. But not me or him.  :'(

It doesn't need to be an original designed circuit  - just built by you.

Slade and frequencycentral will decide on the winner. The judges decision is final. No bribes will be accepted.......!

The winner gets a free 'end of the world' themed Sonic Death Ray 14 stage phase shifter, enclosure etched by Slade, pedal built by frequencycentral......

This time there has to be an entry fee of $10 USD, we need to cover some costs as the enclosure has to be shipped halfway across the world twice even before it goes to the winner. We need $150 to go towards costs, anything over that will be contibuted to Aron/diystompboxes to help keep this wonderful forum going. Bear in mind that a stock Sonic Death Ray sells for $450 USD:

http://www.prymaxevintage.com/frequency-central-sonic-death-ray-phaser/ (yeah, out of stock until they get their next shipment)

- and the one built for this competition will be a collectors item should the world survive past 2012. How to pay your entry fee will be announced shortly - we wanna work it out so people know we're not just scammin' ya!

One question: when is registration, up TO the day it turns to 1000? Or is there only a certain time to enter. Some of us have to scrape the barrel at certain times of the month, I'm sure you've done the same from time to time. As for myself, I can PP after Monday evening (in the states), but made me think about asking, in case others see $10 reg fee and immediately opt out.

Details not worked out yet. We need at least 15 entries or it's a no-go sadly, Slade and I are not made of money. Consider your fee a contrubution to the forum. Anyway, $10 - what does that get ya in the real world? So, step up! if you plan to enter then shout out, let's see if this baby is gonna fly.

Is this open to all members? If so, count me in! Even if I don't finish in time, I would like to contribute to the forum.

Earthscum

Count me in for one definite, but like I said... I just won't be able to PP until Monday evening.

I'm kind of with pakrat... good chance I might not get it done, but heck... if we get 25 people, that's a good chunk that goes to the forums, even if we only see 20 entries at the end.  :icon_biggrin:

Just built by you.

Give it some time to gain momentum. If it looks to be a flyer we are thinking of asking Aron to accept the fees and re-imburse us - and hopefully keep a good chunk for the running of the forum.

We are hoping that some people may just pay an entry fee and stand by and watch the fun, be part of it and contribute to the forum at the same time.

Do pedal mods count?

No - has to be a build. Even if they did count, just changing a cap value and painting a mushroom cloud on a DS-1 ain't gonna cut it with the judges buddy boy!

I think they're saying you can't just mod a DS-1 and paint it, not that certain "end of the world" themes are out. Complete build, be it your circuit or, say a Madbean board. Raw box (or predrill/precoat).

I think I'm gonna make mine so that it quits working on December 21st.  :icon_lol: I guess that would make it a "welfare box" or something, though.

Beo

Pictures thread is currently at page 956, so 44 pages to go to hit 1000. 44 pages ago was page 912, with a post date of 12/11/2011. So that means we should have three months or more before we hit page 1000. This is assuming no one spams the pictures thread to shorten the clock.

I'm in, and with three months I think I can get a submission ready in time.
