although I can never set aside the time to enter these things, I dream one day I could. i'd be more in Favor of a quarterly comp. I think it would get more people in one batch and increase the chances of it continuing. a monthly thing is hard to keep up. but i could be wrong.

nice work all.

I agree. The other thing to consider is that the judges are volunteers. Does the forum have an anonymous polling feature?  That way the forum members could do the judging.

Thirded. The rate at which parts and enclosures get to me often means I have to have more time than one month. 4-6 comps a year, I could potentially participate in 2-4 of them.

I propose a golf clap.
after all it's a rare thing for a group of internet entities to have any polite discourse, much less  participate in a competition where such grand rewards are at stake, and conduct themselves with such courtesy , restraint, and grace.
Whomever is deemed the 'winner', i think it is fair to say that this competish was a fun diversion for us stompboxers and that everyone deserves a warm heartfelt golf clap!

I would give my trouser parts to be able to make some of the builds that aren't even in the top five.

Very fierce competition, fellers. Good luck.

Congrats to whoever ends up the winner. So many great pedals, and a great community where everyone is positive and supportive. These competitions should be taken in fun, after all there is no specific criteria... we have a theme, aesthetics, complexity, innovation, techniques... so many factors to weigh. This isn't the best etch, the best smd, the best uC/dsp programming or any other specific comp... it's a free for all. As a result, we've seen ideas all over the map... and I like it that way. In the end, I know I have a pedal I love, and may have inspired a few people.

If there are other comps in the future, I'll probably try to hit the theme more directly... I would think that's the biggest factor. Quarterly is about as often as I would participate.
