Trouble with Booster and wall wart
« on: June 23, 2012, 11:52:28 AM »
Hi all. I built the beginner project again , maybe my 4-5th time but this time i added a dc socket to use via a 9 volt power supply and a 1 meg resister  on the input. The pedal works fine with a battery, but when the power supply is used i get a lot of noise/hiss when the pedal is engaged. Any ideas in helping resolve this.

What kind of wall wart is it? Unregulated power supplies are notoriously noisy.

Yes, it usually means the power supply is not very good. Try a one spot and it should work fine.
