yayyyyyy got it....that kicks ass, cheers ian! ;)

my poor little roland :D ....those rabbits are gonna suffer now, you never know though they might like it..!!!!!...ha ha... :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted:

as luck would have it i have a 100k dual pot with knobs too..and the volume goes right off too now..brilliant.

i'll knock up a pcb for this...and post it up if anyone else wants it...cheers guys!!!!!... :icon_cool:

i don't have to have my mp3 maxed out now,  as a comparison i tried my mp3 on its own, and with this circuit i only have to have the vol on 9oclock to get it the same,,so plenty there..excellent'e...... :icon_cool:

edit:

pdf layout files for anyone who wants/needs it... ;)

Rob, nice job...  For some silly reason I put 2 x resistors in there that aren't required. :icon_redface:
However, they won't affect the circuit at all, so probably easiest to leave them in, in your build. I updated the schem. Sorry 'bout that.

By convention, there should be a 47uF or 100uF from 9V to ground as well, but if the circuit is battery-powered, I'm not sure if you'll hear any difference. If you are going to revise your vero layout, one of the caps needs to 10uF  ;)

I have that amp too and it now has a new life in the garage and by the pool as a semi-permanent mp3/Pandora player.  We run multiple devices through it and never had a problem with volume from the amp.  Have you tried different cables?  and is the mp3 player loud with headphones, or quite with those too?

@ian, oops yes 10uf on the vero...i'll sort it ok...thanks for the heads up....i'll run it on batteries, but yeah i may add that 100uf in case i feel the urge to add a dc socket and use it indoors too...good idea!.

you mean  the 47k's?..

@george, cool,  i'll have to try that later my missus has it at the mo... :) i was going to have just an mp3 (3.65mm) stereo in and out,  but i may add left/right jacks too...see how it goes, i have a small
plastic project box it'll go into nicely...

Yep, the 2 x 47k's, not needed, but won't hurt either, if you've already built it that is...
