I recently perfed a zombie chorus using the R.G. Keen layout..the circuit works for a couple of seconds then stops...the cd4046 is self destructing for some reason..I can find no mistakes in my build..all the voltages are at 9.5 volts..I used nte 4046B parts...any body have an Idea why this is happening?...here are the voltages:

U1:TL062
1) 5.6     8)9.5

2)5.6      7)8.1

3)2.7      6)8.1

4)0         5)7.9

U2: MN3007
1)9.5       8)7.9

2)4.7       7)7.9

3)5.6       6)4.7

4)0          5)0

U3 TL062
1)1.3/8.7 slow  5.7 fast     8)9.5

2)5.7                               7)6.1 fast/5-7v slow

3)4.4-7v slow/6v fast        6)4.3

4)0                                 5)5.6

U4 NTE 4046B
1)0                     16)9.5
2)4.7                  15)0.17
3)4.7                  14)4.18
4)4.7                  13)0
5)0                     12)7.1
6)1.3                  11)4.0
7)1.3                  10)4.4
8)0                      9)5.7

it passes a dry signal and I can hear the ticking that speeds up and slows down with the speed control but the depth has no effect nor does the clone switch....nothing is shorted/backwards/crossed/open..etc.the only thing that I dont like is when I check continuity across the decoupling caps one direction is infinite and when I reverse the leads I get a reading of around 500 ohms...I thought one of the caps was possibly shorted but when removed they checked fine...seems like if that was causing the problem it would wipe out more than the 4046...I had a similar problem with the ring frobnicator...I would like to get this to work.. ???..any ideas anyone??? >:(

ok ..if you are going to attempt this project you better read the updates because pins 14 and 16 have to be connected to +9v..it does not show it on the layout or the schematic..it was my fault for not paying close enough attention to the fine print and just followed the layout/schematic...thank you RG

Hi, can you post a link to the update? The last update I see on GEOFEX is from 10/14/01. I'm having the same problem you described.
