Transfer alternatives to PNP for enclosure etchings
« on: March 26, 2013, 06:05:07 PM »
Hey guys! I've spent the last two weeks trying to figure a good way to transfer decorations into my aluminum enclosures for etching, as PNP is not avaible here in Brazil and it's freaking expensive to buy online (~ $5 per sheet).

Has anyone succeeded in using alternatives to PNP? Which ones and how did you do the transfering process?

Thanks. I've already tried glossy paper, magazine paper and transparency paper and they didn't work out. Some of the toner always stays in the paper, no matter how I do it.  >:(

I'm guessing that the problem must be the toner itself or the printer brand: I'm actually printing my designs at a copy shop...

Do you think I should buy a printer and do it myself? Or is there something I can try before spending my bucks?  :-\

Dry film photo resist.  This is how professional PCBs are made.  Applying the film isn't fun, but it's a very good resist.

copy shops usually won't turn off their toner save function.....so they won't give a nice thick image... :-\

so you may be better off buying a printer...i use samsung ML 1660.
