anyone got a schematic for this beast?
i got a pair yesterday, so yes, i can compare parts... but it appears to have some weird-ass voltage converter thing that takes 2 c batteries and juices it up to 10v or something.

i can still read the roasted transistor, but i don't know enough yet to be able to identify what to maybe replace it with.

i MAY just convert it to run on a 9v, but at nearly 500 on ebay, i figure i should probably fix it right. the one that works is awesome!!

the roasted transitor is a 2sc817ay from what i can find... doing a bit of a search, i found an nte equivalent.
but it's really i think just a pnp...do ya think i can sub a 3906 or something?

some of the crap on the board is roasted, hoping the dc-dc convertor thing survived somehow..

workin on the components, but came across a resistor i've never ever seen before.. it's banded blue grey gold and gold!  WTF???!?!?!?!

According to my handy dandy resistor calculator, that is equal to 6.8 ohms 5%

hoping i can revive this poor beast. it's power supply daughterboard got a little crispy

awww, shoot, labeled the diode backwards...first pic, where it says + is actually the band/cathode..

it's a dc-dc convertor, takes two c batteries 3 volt output, and steps it up to 10v 150ma!

yah, hen's tooth...that's why i hope to get a schematic bro, to see if there's a way to bypass it.

hoping the cheap transistor was there to protect it. there's 3 leads going into it...will have to take some voltage readings from the good one, i guess.

some one gave me a busted one of those , i think , unless its a boss wah that uses c-cells . i have it here , somewhere .... hmmmm , did i throw it out , crap , i think i did ....

Mine has a 2SA1015 then its central pin is Collector

get rid of that DC-DC **it...
Get a 7810 or a 7809 + sil. diode on GND pin and use a 12V DC adaptor...

Get a small vero board and place these few parts


Electros 100 to 470uF 25V, films 100nF
Diodes 4007 or similar.
Unwire the battery box and put it away, unscrew and unwire the stock DC-DC board:
RED wire from DC jack goes to RED on my schem.
BLUE wire from DC jack and Black from main PCB go to my schem. GND
ORANGE wire from PCB goes to ORANGE in my schem.
get rid of the other wires going to DC-DC board.
You should be done...

if i'm reading right, you could mod the pd1 with one of these, and just use a normal wart. add a 7810, done deal.
