which one is "better"? the 3 knob or MKII ? please post your opinion

My vote is solidly for the MKII Professional with one modification...replace the 100K collector resistor of Q2 with a 47K.

The MKII is a different sound than the 3-Knob, however.  The MKII is very fuzzy, saturated, can feedback when wanted (and sometimes when not wanted) and will sustain just about forever.  The 3-Knob is usually a much smoother fuzz.

Hello Hello--
Depends!    If you want gobs of FFUUZZZ  and don't mind the loss of a tone control, the MKII does it!  [Actually, I prefer the Marshall Super Fuzz...it's made by the same company but has a few different res. values and the sound is a little less "flabby".]   The Colorsound 3-knob is a bit more refined......not quite as much fuzz [but still alot!] and has a good tone control that makes it more useable with different guitars.
Check back about 1 1/2 - 2 weeks  for all the Led Zep - Tonebender posts on the forum.   A good Telecaster through a MK II Tonebender can be a killer sound!
Brian.
p.s.---then there's the issue of what trannys you are going to use...
