hi all

well i got my ultraflanger built, and sorta running.

my problem is, i dont get flanging, i get tremolo. turning the knobs affect the signal as in speed depth etc.

while i was originally testing it, it was just making weird noises. i discovered id left a resistor out. i quickly remidied that, but noticed that MN3007 got VERY hot. is that a bad thing?

btw my MN3007 is labelled MN3101. paul perry sent them to me so i trust he'd be right, but is that all ok?

cheers

...there must be s.th. terribly wrong in your pedal:
the MN3101 is the clock-generator for an MN3007,
and not a mis-labelling!

Do you have 2 MN3101 labelled ICs in that circuit ?
(don`t know the schematic...)

Joep

The Ultra Flanger uses a CD4046 as a clock driver (with additional buffering by a CD4049). No MN3101 is used.

The schem is here

Always check voltages before you put in IC's, and ask yourself if it looks ok. Especially with these expensive IC's.

thanx, Joep: in this case jimmy received the wrong chip,
and, believing it would be the right one - only mis-labelled -
put it where a 3007 should have been put;
no wonder it got hot...

Paul: could you send him the right one?

(I would, if I could; but I only got the 3207s...)

whoa thats not good at all. i was freakin out haha. nice to know i got the board right. it was my first photo paper transfer board, and it came out good after about oh, 6 tries. worth it though, im not drawing that out by hand. thanks guys.
