Price will be about US$ 130,- / EURâ,¬ 100,- / UK£ 70,- which should get you a nice shell for your true 808 clone.

But when it will be available to us ?

It'll be a gas anyway, even if it was just for the looks. I might buy one or put it on my wish list for my burpday

What I don't get is why it should be so much more expensive than the ts-9(dx) , eventhough it has less parts than a ts-9dx.... :?

My guess is "forward thinking" on the maufacturer's part.  My guess is that Boss would do well to reissue some of theirs too, like DM-2 or DM-3  maybe even SP-1.

What is not correct about the new 808?

 I have not heard a modded TS that sounded like a good 808.

 The resistor changes only makes a difference with some tube amps.

 I have had two 808s at my house to compare to alot of modded TSs.

 The 808 has a grit that I can get close to but its not exact.

 I think I know why.

The price translates to about $149 which is what the reissue TS-9's went for when they came out.

That is the sugested retail price. It has already been spotted in the States for US$ 130,-

This is going to keep the "NOS JRC4558d chip" money making machine going for another 5 years! lol Just when it looked like you could finally get people to believe there are better, quieter chips for the TS-9. Thanks Ibenez for giving us another pedal to mod for extra spending money.

Now, if MXR would only reissue the Micro Chorus and Micro-Flanger. Oh wait, then they'd be Dunlop's! Never mind.

Hi,

The reissue TS-808 is a new TS9 reissue board, made by Ibanez, not the older/better MAXON board like the original TS808 and TS9 boards. It does have the correct JRC4558D op amp and output resistors, so it sounds very good, very close to our CLASSIC TS9/808 mod.

We have a few here that we got in Japan, and have a few cases of them on order when they come into the USA soon (Don't waste your money on the ebay ones!).

We will have some fun mods for them, like putting original PAF's into a '59 Les Paul reissue, to add some mojo. People who don't care about mojo probably buy a TS7 instead of a TS-808 reissue, so I think our ORIGINAL VINTAGE TS-808 mods will be quite popular. Of course you can get the same sound out of a modified TS9 for a little less money but the cool factor of a pedal that looks like an original TS-808 will probably sell a ton of them for Ibanez. And having more choices is a good thing :-)

I won't say the old chips sound better, like all old PAFs don't sound better than a burstbucker, but people still pay a few grand for an old PAF for the mojo. If you think this is stupid, dont buy one :-)
