I was just looking through Ebay and I saw a Proco Rat "Duece Tone".  I was wondering if anyone had ever seen or heard any of them?  It looks cool.  As far as I can tell, it's just two Rats that you can use in series or as seperate channels.  Looks like a cool project for the person who's built everything.

I have an older rack mount version that is the same thing with out the switches to change the version like that one has, I useally run the output of one into the input of the other one, one set for a little dirty the other for very dirty.

I made up and populated two Rat/Rodent boards the other day, and was pondering cloning a double rat (of course I'd need to make sure they were the same sex before placing them so close to each other).

The advantage of having the dual unit is that cascaded distortions get more interesting when you can adjust the harmonic content of the first one (a shortcoming of the recently introduced E-H Dual Muff Fuzz unit).  Goosing the signal output of the first, but keeping it a fairly mute tone can get wads of nice farty grunt from the second one.

My sense is that the original rackmount Proco unit was more for pre-MIDI, pre-programmable, fuzz presets, though.
