The up/down switch consists of a SPDT switch and a bunch of LEDs. My limited brain is telling me: "that looks kindof like a Dr. Quack!" Now, could I use this LED/switch combo to mod the Dr. Quack to do up and down sweeps? Or not? My idea would be to add the combo 'above' the transistor, at the node where the tranny,  two .005 caps and the 47k resistor from the switch meet.

Somebody, and I think it was Tim, posted something a ways back in which they replaced the NPN bipolar with a P-channel JFET (2N5460..... IIRC), such that the same control voltage resulted in the *opposite* change in resistance to ground.

That's not enough info to work with, but maybe it will spark a collective recollection.

I was actually thinking about a PNP transistor. :? But my knowledge on PNP transistors is minimal. Would that work?? I'll try a 2N5460 once I get the parts for it.

I was actually referring to theparts for the Dr. Quack Most of my money is going out to a SBE order for stuff I pay triple for here in holland. Like boxes and footswitches and some other stuff I can't get for as competetive a price. So I'll have to wait till my B-day till I have the money to breadboard the Dr. Quack out. Wow that was a long short story :roll:

anyway, I'll give it a go, maybe even use a DPDT switch to change trannies. Archives first
