and what type of Capacitors do I need? Electroylt or ceramic.....

You can use both kinds of caps. It affects tone though...
2n5088 - can be changed for 2n2222 or 2n5089
1n914 can be changed for a 1n4148 as far as I know, but they will clip differently.

You can pretty much use any small signal NPN transistor for this project.

The 1N914 can be subbbed with 1N4148 no difference as far as I can tell.
