What power supply i shall use with my Boss DM-3 analog delay?There is a sticker at the back saying "use Boss ACA adaptor only"...I'm using my usual PSA adaptor and it doesn't work

By the way there is something unusual happening, when i'm using the
PSA adaptor with a daisy chain to supply power to the DM-3 and other
Boss pedals (DD-3,MT-2 etch) the analog delay does work!!!
The effect doesn't have any mulfuction and it works ok with a
battery...

The PSA delivers more current than the ACA, maybe you were not pulling enough current from it. Wierd though... :?

Boss pedals that use the ACA power supply have a diode/ resistor circuit on the power supply input. You can modify your pedal to operate properly with a PSA supply. Heres how to do it: http://www.jpl-audio.com/images/acapsa.pdf
The reason the pedal works when attached to a daisy chain is that the common ground between the audio cables effectively "shorts " the diode/resistor circuit and the pedal operates properly.
When you use a PSA supply with an ACA pedal by itself the power input cicuit will drop the voltage below 7.5 Vdc and operation is affected.
If you always operate the DM-3 in the chain don't worry about it.

You could also remove the diode/resistor combo and replace them with jumpers

They still sell the ACA adapters, I've seen them at GC.  The Voodoo Labs pedal power II has four jacks you can switch to the ACA voltage for the Japanese Boss pedals.  With the unit switched in the ACA mode it puts out 12.3v instead of the 9.23v the other jacks put out.

Thanks for the info!!!I feel much better now.I was a little sceptical about the effect working properly with a daisy chain.
I'll mod my DM-3 for PSA adaptors...and i hope this doesn't affect the sound.

Jlaudio i'm going to use the one wire conversion because i'm not sure about the correct zener and this delay has lots of them... :?

Can anyone find where is the right zener that has to be removed???

The DM -3  does not use a  zener across the supply input so ther is nothing to remove.
You can jumper D1 and R3 and your set. OR
take the blue wire on pad 3 and connect to pad 4

Ok.I think i've made something very stupid.
My delay doesn't work anymore :shock:
The guitar signal doesn't pass by.I tried all the jacks and i can only
hear my signal when i have the guitar connected in the direct out jack and an unconnected patch cable in the input.This way i can only hear the delayed sound.
I reversed the mod now and still nothing happens.

When i connect the guitar in the input and maximise the knobs i can only
hear the familiar "UFO" sounds

I think i'll have to make an audio probe(it was about time :roll: ).
The delay chips doesn't have any problem because when i turn the "repeat" knob i can hear the loud noises this thing can produce...

There must be something wrong in the input section...

I made an audio probe and I tried to find where is the problem in
my delay. It was the first time I used an audio probe and I was a little sceptical...
I traced the effect and I couldn't find any signal over the input cap
and I was about "that audio probe is crap..." Well, I checked closer and
I found a broken solder joint in one of the first transistor leads…
This is the best tool I ever owned! I think I’m more happy about making the audio probe than fixing my delay…!!!
