hey guys,
i was wondering if there was any substitutes for this chip, as i cant seem to find them anywhere locally, and i'd really like to attempt a maestro FSH-1...
any ideas or alternate names for this chip.. or any others in the 3xxx range - i can only seem to find stuff in 4xxx or other various product numbers...
thanks in advance fellas

Well, I believe the only really available transconductance op amps are the 3080 and the LM13700.  Neither are pin for pin compatible (13700 is dual) , and I'm 95% sure that there is no pin for pin substitue for the 3080.

agreed with a-e;

one half of the LM13700 (or LM13600, pincompatible) will functionally do exactly what the 3080 is supposed to do, if you leave its other pins of that half unconnected.

For the more advanced builders, the unused part of that half a 13700 can substitute the FET- or opamp-buffer following the 3080, which is often found in OTA circuits...

same goals for the second half of the 13xxx...

Trent, you can get CA3080 from Altronics, or (cheaper!) from me, seeing as I am in Melbourne Australia also.  I'll send you a personal message.

I got my CA3080's from Small Bear and they were cheaper than what I could get them in Australia for (this was also when DSE still stocked them) even with the $4USD postage ...
