Here's the DOD Gonkulator, pics of the PCB.

Apparently a 1496 based ring mod. Might be a decent DIY project esp if the onboard osc is made tunable.

Boooo to the gonkulator.  I have a personal vendetta.  It's not worth tracing, IMHO.

i'd be interested in building it too, but i am certainly not capable of tracing the board....  :?

Cool photos. A member called D. are working in a schematic. Now we need to wait :P.

Yeah definitely overrated effect since the guy from incubus uses one. ALot of other ring mods sounds better than this one

Cool, please post others that use the MC1496 and a single 9 volt power supply.

My point exactly.

yeah i tried to tackle this thing a little while ago unsuccessfully, the traces are so small (a gave up as i have the pedal and dont really need another)....i dont get why everyone hates this pedal...its actually got cool ideas in it, just the noise and bleed though need to be fixed...(a frequency control wouldnt hurt either)  i bet it would make it easier if you isolated the distortion part and just did the ring mod first, that would cut a lot of the tracing i think
