Who makes those things.. sells them.. and all that? I'd like to find new empty shells...

Those things are like finding a golden ticket.  The easiest way to get a wah shell seems to be either 1) get a broken one for cheap and cannabalize it or 2) buy a rouge (plastic) wah for $20 and use it.

No one seems to know where these mysterious shells are made but if you find out please let us know.  Check around pawn shops or ask your local music shop.  I found a (supposed) broken Dunlop at my local shop and they just gave it to me.  That may be a rare occasion but you never know until you ask.  Good Luck

I just bought a new CryBaby and stuck a vintage circuit in it. I wonder if you wrote to Dunlop and asked for the shell, if they would sell you one...

All these wah shells have to come from the same supplier (whoever it is...) because they're all virtually identical, except for the Vox that have the chromed tops.

Even Teese gets his shells from the same place as Dunlop, Vox, Budda, etc.

I think Dunlop makes the cases themselves. Everyone else goes through them to get their cases. The chrome top is not that special since some of Dunlop's line has chrome tops.

You can order the cases from Dunlop but they are not cheap and you have to order all the other hardware to go with it. Instead I suggest buying a "High Gain" passive volume pedal. They're cheap, easy to gut, come with all the hardware needed, and you don't have to do any hunting to get one. They even have the hole for the footswitch if you want one.

Carvin has cheap wha-whas for like $40-$50.  That would be your best bet.
Q: What do you get when you cross an owl with a bungee cord?
