how do i get some?

Which ICs are you wanting

go to texas instruments, and if you only do it once the first order should consist of ..2 4049...2 4066.. 2 4069.. 2 4053.. 2 4011... 2 4093... 2 5532 ..2 4017.... this would cover your bilateral switches for R G bypasses dpdt or tonegod stuff. You can build any of the tube sound fuzz projects / double d at runoff groove etc. On your sample order they allow 2 pcs. per sample at a total of 8 samples and if you order them tonite you may have them by this weekend. ...What ever you dont get there you can go to MAXON and get. they have samples also. ..While were  on the free stuff go to PAC-tec and they allow 2 free samples of heavyduty project enclosures [can we say free] they are plastic but built heavy duty and some outdoor projects that require waterproofing. You get free samples at harris but you have to pay the shipping costs.....if you get bored go to google and type in free or free samples or free stuff and see what you come up with. TExas instruments were so quick no doubt that is where I will be doing a lot of my shopping as I learn more.

Also, btw, i ordered from TI, and got none of that stuff.  I picked up 4558's, burr browns, 555s, tl072's, and some other stuff that i can't remember....

From TI you can get up to 8 different samples and up to 10 pieces of each sample. This is a total of up to 80 pieces.    Some stuff like the Burr Brown chips you can only get 5 pieces.  They also will send your stuff Overnight free of charge.

I remember that there was also a long discussion on the ethics of this practice. I must say the I don't want to re-open that discussion, but do keep in mind that some people are opposed to ordering samples. I ordered some samples 2 months ago and I'm still going strong on all those opamps.
