Wherever intelligent rhythm guitar can be found, that's where I like to place myself.  That covers a lot of ground, the brunt of which might be described as R&B/soul/blues/funk, but solid "major-chord-rock" of the Tom Petty, Neil Young, or Paul Westerberg variety (i.e., there's an open G, D or A in there somewhere) holds a certain attraction, as does simpler fusion-jazz, swing, and alt-country.  Again, anything where planning out both chords and licks fleshes it out.  I always wanted to be either Jimmy Nolen or Steve Cropper., with a side-helping of George Harrison
