It is. But musicians generally don't have a clue what happens inside their gear. "Transformers, like, sound good, man" has become received wisdom. And if they're willing to spend the money, let the baby have his bottle...

As the maker Toshiba notes it's intended or "Audio Frequency Low Noise Amplifier Applications".

That's certainly a good one, but costs about 50% more than the MC33078, and that is just two parts of a discrete JFET diff amp (I assume you're suggesting using these like Boss used in some of their more modern non-Waza craft pedals (like Q2, Q3 and Q4 in the FZ-2 - Aion FX's schematic)

I think I'll start a separate thread on bootstrapping opamps haha.
