Cant figure this one out. I have sound but its not boosted. I tried bs170 and 2n7000 no difference. Any ideas?

I the bid elect. cap wired correctly/not broken?

Did you mess with those bias resistors?
 Having socketted that bias adjusting resistor, I:
 Strung two wires from a 100k V/R pot,  inserted its wires into the above mentioned socket [actually I tinned the pots wire ends, and flattenned them, and stuck Those two wires in the socket], adjusted and watched the DMM read voltage on Q Drain, and couldn't get it to get a bias that would let it amp.
 I went through and figured out what it was, then tried again, got around 1/2 supply voltage, pulled the pot out without disturbing it's setting, measured it's resistance and used a resistor of near that size for setting bias.
