Hi all,

I modded my sd-1 now here's what I've done - I did pillip's mods found at fuzz central, plus and two switch: 1. big bottom & 2. swith between TS clipping to the 5 star Ge mod and put a 22pf cap in the FB loop.
I also changed every cap in the signal path and tone shaping to film and changed the in put resistor to 620k. I currently use RC4558D but that's under testing... I used a 5mm blue LED with 2k2 current limiter.

it's sound FANTASTIC, rich, warm, round and with big ballz... from Tube Screamer to having a real attitude.

but, I have some questions:
1. it's way more noisey now, why?
2. when I tried to do the 0.047 cap from FB loop to ground bypass the unit began gating at drive of more than one, why is that?? (I use a .1 uf in parallel to the .047 for a big round bottom option.

Noise...try a different opamp, because it's easy...I've had noisey ones before.

and what about that afful squertty noise gating when bypassing C3 for the Fat Mod ?
