I'm want to build the EA Tremolo, but I can't find anyone who sells log taper 25k pots...anyone have any ideas?

For the final volume pot, could I use any value without disturbing the tone/sound?

100k log for volume, and I think it's a 250k lin pot for depth.... Not sure though
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.

Tyr a 50k.
Then connect a fixed 47k [paralleling resistance] to the outside lugs of the pot, measure this circuits resistance from the outside lugs...that's the virtual pot value....should be more than close enough to 25k....adjust to taste.
Output pot? Isn't that a 100k? try 50k or 10k in a pinch, it probably won't be as loud, or 500k for louder. there may be impedance issues ?
I've used 500k's with a fixed resistor across the outside lugs to reduce the pots resistance from signal to ground.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Hi Yano,
I built the enhanced EA Trem from the runoffgroove site. Really satisfying when a circuit that straightforward works as well as it does first time.

The pots I used were 100k log for the Volume, 220k linear for depth and a 100k linear with taper resistors for the speed control. The taper resistors are described in "the secret life of pots" at GEO http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/potsecrets/potscret.htm

You can get 25K audio taper pots fromhttp://www.stewmac.com. The only problems are that they are full-sized (which may or may not be a problem for you), knurled and split shaft, and are $8.97 each! And you thought 3PDT switches were expensive!

If these facts don't deter you, search their site for part #3755. They work fine in my EA Trem, but if I had to do it again, I might use the Runoffgroove circuit or do the resistor trick with 50K pots.

i used the regular EA trem schematic and got those special pots from Weber. they don't have as tight a feel as alpha pots, but they're probably good quality. $1.25 apiece.

I buy mine from Supremetronic in Toronto for 70 cents each (+tax) Canadian.  They are the small size Alpha pots.
