Is there anyway to mod these to ross specs ?

Transmogrifox

Yes.  I think there is something about that on GEOFEX or AMZ.  I can't remember which one.  Try to flag down RG or Mark Hammer and either one can probably direct you to the link.

It sounds like you want to mod an actual MXR dynacomp.  If so, there are a 4 extra caps etc that are on the Ross that, to replicate on the Dynacomp, would involve replacing single resistors with dual resistors and putting one leg of a cap on the junction, then connecting the other leg to ground - could be tricky to do as well as being a battle to find the room inside the case, not to mention ensuring unntended shorts don't occur.

FWIW, I built a Dynacomp clone with the .01 input cap replaced with a .1 cap.   I think this has improved the bass response, and it sounds good with distortion which I've heard is the difference between the Dyna and the Ross (DC better lean, RC better with distortion).

Might be simpler than messing with resistors and caps with floating junctions ...

It's not that difficult. I built my first Ross clone before the tonepad layout came out by photocopying my Dynacomp board to get a layout and modding it to Ross specs.

I don't remember exactly how I did the mods, probably a certain amount of flying components and shrink wrap insulation, but there aren't thatmany components to change.

Unless you've got a beat or reissue Dynacomp I wouldn't destroy whatever collector value it has by doing the mods. If what you're after is the sound I'd second the recommendation to build one from scratch using the tonepad layout.
