I'm packing up a bunch of lesser-used pedals to store until I need them, and I'm storing them in Sterilite tupperware-style bins. I've also taken the extra step of wrapping them in plastic clingwrap to keep them dust and scratch free. Does this seem like a good idea, or am I doing harm by wrapping them in the plastic? I see it as no different from them being stored in the original plastic bags that they shipped in their boxes with.

And yes, I've removed all the batteries :)

As long as the paint is cured, and there's no moisture problems, there's no harm in plastic. I use sandwich bags or freezer bags. I just put the pedal in, and fold it over. I wipe off any finger prints, especially off any metal parts. Putting in one of the little moisture absorbing bags doesn't hurt either. Sunlight, dust, smoke, and moisture are the things to protect the pedal from.

You could use those silica packets to absorb moisture over time, they come with new shoes.

Thanks Jason, Silica bags!! Me faster neanderthal typist.  I had a major brain fart! I couldn't remember the name, so I called them "moisture absorbing bags"!  Their other name is dissicant bags? I use the larger ones for firearms. They can be heated in an oven to dry them back out, and you can use them over and over.
