There must have been a bomb on the tracks!  I have seldom seen a thread become so derailed so fast.  There's a bit of a misunderstanding here, I think.  No women have been, are or will be insulted, criticized or otherwise abused in the pursuit of this obsession.  

There has been one woman in particular, Kate Ebneter, who has the history of stompboxes down cold.  She has the collection (and probably the electronic chops) to match.  I would bet she's forgotten more about electronics than the pathetically small amount I know.  Sadly, she has been absent from these parts for a long time.  She would be welcomed back should she choose to return, as would any other interested party.  I can only speak for myself,  but I say gender is neither a qualification nor a hindrance to membership here.
