Hey folks.

I just acquired a transistor tester to sort through several batches of germanium transistors.  This tester measures gain as Beta and leakage (Ico) in microamps.  My question is how do I determine the true gain of the transistor (total gain minus the leakage) when I know Beta and the leakage in microamps?  Thanks.

Thanks Brett.  I have built and used the transistor checker described in the Technology of the Fuzz Face article.  However, I'm a sucker for old test equipment, such as this transistor testor, and was hoping that I could use it for testing germanium transistors.  After receiving it, I realized the units for gain and leakage were not the same, but figured there must be a way around that-some calculation of sorts.  I'll have to think about it some more.
